Myrcathis |
Sanctovar Sanctovar is the holy capital of Myrcathis, where the Castle of the Flame crowns the hill and the Hall of Judgment and Harbor of Purity rule over law and trade. The Crimson Guard enforce the King’s will in the streets, while the Inquisition of the Pure Flame hunts forbidden magic and “impurity.” For most citizens, Sanctovar is the world. Grainmere Grainmere is a farming town surrounded by endless golden fields to the south. Its grain feeds Sanctovar first, everyone else second. Overlooking the village stands the Harvest Keep, where the Warden counts every bushel, while the windmill and local brewery keep the people working, praying, and quietly worrying about the next bad harvest. Grimhaven Deep in the dark southern woods, far from Sanctovar’s glow, stands Grimhaven — a timber and charcoal settlement clinging to the edge of an ancient forest. Life here is harsh and practical: towering trees, long days of cutting and burning, and nights where the only comfort is firelight and the knowledge that the Inquisition rarely comes this far. Hollowfell Hollowfell lies in low, mist-draped hills near the strange Evermyst Woods. The village is small and quiet, its people hardened by poor soil, eerie lights in the fog, and travelers who sometimes never arrive. Out here, sermons about the Pure Flame sound more like protection charms than doctrine. Ashvale Ashvale is a dry, wind-blown frontier town built on cracked earth and fading hopes. Once a bustling settlement feeding the northern trade roads, it is now partly deserted — its wooden porches creaking in the heat, sand drifting through empty streets, and shutters clattering in the constant dry wind. Those who remain are tough, stubborn folk: ranchers, hunters, and wanderers who live in the shadow of the Northern Walls, the great barrier separating Myrcathis from whatever lies beyond. Ashvale feels like the end of the world — and for many, it is the last safe place before the unknown.
